Dr. Thuy Tran has been elected!
Democrat for State Representative of Oregon House District 45.
As a mom, immigrant, Doctor, Lieutenant Colonel in the Oregon Air National Guard, and a local small business owner, Thuy has the experiences and values to represent our community and address the many challenges we face. Broadly supported by progressive organizations and leaders that we trust, Thuy Tran is ready to fight for us in the Legislature.

I am honored to be elected the next State Representative for House District 45. This election has been notable for many reasons. One of which I'm proud of is to have been able to be supported by so many members of our community, and to stand alongside a record number of other Vietnamese Americans running for office this year. This victory doesn’t mean that the fight stops here. Next year’s legislature will face big responsibilities, working to address homelessness, the rising price of housing and health care, climate change, and providing safety for all members of our community. I’m ready to get to work.
I want to thank the many organizations, friends, and colleagues that supported me throughout this election. I’m so glad to have been able to look to @Barbara Smith Warner as a friend and mentor through this campaign as she prepares to leave office.
As well as to have had a wonderful team of staff and volunteers who have worked so hard to make today happen, my dynamic and amazing Campaign Manager Hai Ninh, who started this journey with me on my first run for State Rep. in 2012, and my ultra-talented and fantastic Field Director @Karen Pan, thank you. I am incredibly grateful. I also want to thank my opponent, @George Donnerberg, for being an active voice around the issues that impact our district.
Thank you to everyone who made today possible. It means so much to me and my family. I’m looking forward to heading to Salem next year and getting to work!
